Having a pet doesn't have to mean your home can't be both serene and cozy for everyone in it, including our furry friends!
The Seattle Times shares the best ways to maximize a space for both you and your pets.
1). Create a spot just for them. Building perches and beds for your pets can be a beautiful way to let them get some sun and get a prime view-point of the house. Choose a pet bed or a simplistic perch that matches the colours and fabrics of your decor and furniture.
2). Manage scents. It goes without saying to keep litter boxes clean, frequently wash fabrics and but adding specific scents can help ensure your home is always smelling fresh. Unscented litter deodorizers, air purifiers or citrus-based aromatherapy oils such as lemon or orange can help to minimize odour.
3). Strategic placement. Placing feeding areas in the right spot is important and can actually affect your pet's digestion. You can make these areas more visually appealing by purchasing decorative canisters and textured placemats.
Keep your pets as cozy as your family this winter!
