Make your home winter-ready.

It's September in Canada and we're already having intense snowfalls. These three tips from Master List will help you stay warm and avoid damage to your home during the harsh winter.

1. Maintain your furnace. To keep the furnace filters clean, change them at the start of the season and then every two to four months. If you have pets, this is even more important!

2. Circulate warm air throughout the house. Reverse your ceiling fans to circulate warm air throughout the home.

3. Clean out the chimney. Having a professional come to clean soot and debris can prevent fires from starting. Ensure that you can't feel any cold air coming from your fireplace, or consider installing small glass doors or an inflatable to block chilly air flow.
